Do you love Osceola County and its rich history? Us, too! We are creating an invaluable collection of digitized photographs chronicling the county's history, growth, and change through 1975. This collection will provide you the opportunity to explore the history of the county and its people, and connect the community to its past.
We need your help! We are asking you to pull out your albums and boxes from the attic to be part of our Local History Collection. Scan your photos, then submit them here. Photo submissions can represent local agriculture, government, industry, transportation, education, community arts, events (i.e. rodeo), construction/development, clubs, and society organizations (i.e. Amvets, DAR, Boys/Girl Scouts, etc.). We also welcome photographs of our local veterans (through the Gulf War) to be a part of our special collection honoring their bravery and sacrifice.
The submission process is free and you are welcome to submit as many photographs as you like. Before you submit, please be aware of the following guidelines regarding copyright:
You may not copy a photograph from a published book or someone's website without their permission.
Submissions must include the following information:
Photographs must belong to the veteran or their family.
In order to protect the information of those currently serving our country, or to prevent the release of compromising information, at this time we are only accepting submissions for veterans who served through the Gulf War.
Please include the following information:
Photographs must be digitized. If you need help scanning your photos or with the submission process, you can visit an Osceola Library System Branch in person, email TheLibrary@osceolalibrary.org or call 407-742-8888 for assistance.
