Make our hearts melt with your tales of friendship, family bonds, secret crushes and beautiful illustrations of what love means to you! Tween (ages 8-12) and Teen (13-17) authors and illustrators, submit your original short story, poem, and/or artwork for a chance to be featured in our fourth annual LitMag, the Osceola Library Literary Magazine.

Submission Rules

  • Participants must be 8-17 years old.
  • Written entries can be up to 1000 words in length, must be in PDF format, and must be submitted digitally using this page.
  • Artwork can be submitted digitally here in JPG, PNG or PDF format.
  • Artwork on paper may be turned in physically at your nearest Osceola Library branch if preferred.
  • Submissions will be accepted during the month of February with a deadline of February 28, 2021. No submissions will be accepted after that date.

All entries will be reviewed by guest authors Vivi Barnes (Olivia Decoded, Paper or Plastic), Nina Moreno (Don't Date Rosa Santos, Our Way Back to Always), and Sarah Nicolas (Keeping Her Secret, Dragons Are People, Too). Featured selections will be published in print and online, and invited to a Zoom reception for a live reading of their writing.

A physical magazine will be made available at the Osceola Library System and a digital version available on BiblioBoard. One winning artist will have their art featured as the magazine's cover! Featured within the magazine will be the written and art selections chosen by our guest authors. All other eligible entries will be included on BiblioBoard within Osceola Library's Community Collections.
